Fishing

Minehead is popular with deep sea anglers - and with good reason. In the spring you can catch rays, smoothound, smalleyeds and thornbacks. Summer catches include pollack, hues, tope, bass, triggerfish and bream. Autumn's favourite is the bass and winter catches include cod, whiting and spurdogs.

Sea fishing trips depart from Minehead harbour - a mere five minute walk from The Old Stables.

Half an hour drive from us is the Wimbleball Lake, which is regularly stocked with Rainbow Trouts up to 8 lb and offers boats and outboards for hire for the fly fishers.
